The safety of your donor data is a important step in keeping your donors' trust in your organization. Virtuous has the ability to help you keep bad actors out of your database by using multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Adding MFA From Permissions Groups
MFA can be added at the permissions group level or by an individual via their profile. For any permissions group that you want to add MFA, go to Settings, All Settings, then Permissions.
Select the group that needs MFA.
Then, on the left side of the screen, select Two Factor Authentication. Make sure to save!
Adding MFA From Your Profile
To add MFA via your profile, select your avatar in the upper right corner, then Edit Profile. From that screen you'll have the ability to enable MFA
User Experience
Once you've enabled MFA on a user group, the next time a user logs in, they will be prompted to start the verification process.
- If the user already has a verified phone number, they will be asked if they want to receive a code via text or phone call.
- If the user does not already have a verified phone number, they will be prompted to verify their phone or set up an authenticator app.
Once the user has logged in using either of these methods, they can go into their user profile and update their access method.
