Creating a Campaign Communication within Virtuous is considered the second step of creating the overall campaign framework consisting of Campaigns, Communications, and Segments.
To create a campaign communication, start on the Campaigns page.
Select the overall Campaign that your communications will be related to (remember you can filter, sort or navigate to another page of campaigns) select Create A Communication.
Best Practice To-Dos
Include Best Practice To-Dos: Selecting this will pop up another field to indicate the Task Owner for all best practice to-dos.
Name (required): Your communication name goes here.
Channel (required): The method or delivery for each communication. These channels are hard coded in Virtuous and include: Advocacy, Direct Mail, Email, Event, Peer-to-peer, Phone, PR, Radio, Social Media, TV, Web, Other.
Step (required): The current step related to the overall lifecycle of a communication. These steps are hard coded in Virtuous and include: Concept, Creative, Production, In Progress, Analysis.
Start Date (required): The overall start date of the communication.
Description: Any internal supporting details regarding the overall communication goals or structure can go here.
Data Segment Description: Any internal details regarding the overall plan for segmentation can go here. This is particularly helpful for planning future communications.
Test Description: Any internal details regarding the overall plan for split testing can go here. This is particularly helpful for planning future communications.
Giving Goal: The total goal amount for fundraising efforts directly related to this communication
New Giver Goal: The total goal amount for new givers directly related to this communication.
Network Reach: The total goal amount for overall network reach related to this communication.
Primary Call To Action: Any internal details regarding the overall call to action for this specific communication.
Internal Cost Estimate: The overall estimate of cost anticipated or allocated to this specific communication.
Vendor Cost Estimate: The overall estimate of vendor specific costs anticipated or allocated to this specific communication.
Project: If a communication DOES happen to tie directly to a project, select it here.
Owner: Internal Virtuous user that is the main point of contact for this communication.
Communication Type: Another layer/way of categorizing communications. These include: Unspecified, Appeal, Receipt and Relationship Building. Campaign communication type is a customizable field within Virtuous.
Once saved, each campaign communication will, by default, have one segment. Click the Actions button and select Add Segment to add additional segments.
