Utilizing communication types within the campaign structure in Virtuous can help narrow the focus on reporting metrics.
Imagine if you were able to report on metrics like, our bi-monthly 'getting to know you' email has a much bigger impact on incoming gifts in comparison to our standard first of the month appeal.
There are four available options for communication types, however they are a customizable field so you can create your own as needed!

Unspecified: A communication that isn't specifically a direct appeal, or isn't completely relationship focused.
Appeal: An appeal is made.
Receipt: Allows for receipt segment tracking.
Relationship Building: No specific appeal is made, the general focus is on building relationships with your donors.
Utilizing a custom communication type can help you dive even farther into understanding your donors by listening to their actions at each level of the campaign framework.
To create a custom communication type, hover over the left side bar, then select Settings. Under Settings, select Data Customization.

Select the Communication Types button.

From there, click create communication type and enter a name.


Once it's saved, your custom type will be available when creating or editing a campaign communication!
