How Do I Add A Contact Membership When Importing Gifts?

When importing gifts, you have the ability to add a contact membership either manually or via a CSV import. Click here to learn more about the gift entry process.

 

When adding a new recurring contact membership as a part of gift entry, you'll need to create a recurring gift at the same time. Simply select the recurring membership you'd like to add, toggle create a recurring gift on and create the recurring gift including start date, recurring frequency, and recurring amount.

When adding a one time contact membership, simply select the one time membership you'd like to add.

 

When adding a contact membership when importing via a CSV file, add as much information as you have related to the membership and gift.

This sample import has very little information, and three major things that are wrong, but when reviewing our import we can make the appropriate corrections.

If you are indicate on the import that you'd like to create a recurring membership but don't include the recurring gift information, upon reviewing the updates needed for your import, you will be prompted to create a recurring gift and enter a gift amount that matches the cost of the membership.

If you indicate on the import that you'd like to create a membership that isn't valid, perhaps it was spelled incorrectly on the import, upon reviewing the updates needed for your import,you will be prompted to pick a valid membership.

If you indicate on the import that you'd like to create a one-time membership but put a gift amount that is less than the cost of the membership, upon reviewing the updates needed for your import, you will be prompted to update the gift amount to match the cost of the membership.

Once any and all updates are made to prepare your import, select Import to begin processing your import.
