How do I Embed a Virtuous Form into my Wix Website?

You've created your Wix site, you've made the awesome decision to join Virtuous, now you'll need to incorporate Virtuous forms into your site. Here is a breakdown of how to embed a Virtuous form into your Wix site.

Get the code

After you’ve built your form in Virtuous you’ll need to click the 3 dots next to the form information on the forms home page. Then select “</>EMBED.”

Now, all you need to do is copy the code via the copy button at the bottom.

Add an embed widget

From there, you’ll head over to your Wix site. After you’re logged in, you’ll navigate to the page where you want the form to appear to begin editing. You’ll then click the plus sign on the upper left corner. In the menu you should see “Embed.” Click on that option then you will be able to see the option to select “Embed a Widget” Click that option and a box will appear on your screen. Drag and drop the box to where you would like for the form to appear.

Now you’re ready to embed. Click on the box that you just added to your page. In the HTML Box that opens up, paste the code that you copied from Virtuous.

Next, add <div> before and after the Virtuous Embed code. Then click update at the bottom of the box.

Now your form is ready to be resized for the site. From here, you publish your site and you’re ready to roll!

Troubleshooting giving forms

Note: Wix does not currently support adding URL parameters to the URL of a Wix page, which means you may experience issues when trying to set Gift Codes and Values using Custom URLs. This is a requested feature on the Wix platform that you can vote for here: https://support.wix.com/en/article/request-adding-tracking-parameters-to-your-url

Embedding Giving Forms through Virtuous may require an extra step. We use the ReCaptcha to ensure safety of your giving forms. Because of this, you will need to confirm that the domain you are embedding the form on is added to your organization domains. This means you must whitelist–or allow–the domain for a Giving Form in Virtuous.

To whitelist the needed domains you'll need to go to your Giving Dashboard in Virtuous.

Then, you'll select settings, followed by your payment processor.

Finally, once you're on the settings page for your processor you will need to update the Organization domains box. Due to the methods Wix uses to display an embedded form, in addition to listing your own website domain, you will also need to whitelist the following domains. To separate multiple domains, you may do so with a comma.

Once you save the domains, it will be added to the list of trusted sites for your giving forms. You will then be able to render your form in the same manner as above!
