π¨ Breaking Change Alert π¨
We know we mentioned this once already, but it bears repeating: As of April 15th, 2021, Virtuous will no longer support Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions 1.0 or 1.1. After that date, all communication with the Virtuous application will require TLS version 1.2 or greater.
This change is part of our continued focus on maintaining strict data security for all of our clients. TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 are potentially vulnerable and no longer meet the security standards used by most applications.
You will need to ensure that your software is already using at least TLS 1.2, and upgrade to TLS 1.2 if not. The good news is that if you are using modern versions of your programming language(s), HTTP libraries, and frameworks, itβs possible that you wonβt need to make any changes at all.
As of April 15th, 2021, any connection requests using TLS 1.0 or 1.1 will be denied authorization, which will impact integration processes. We recommend updating before then to minimize any downtime for your users.
If you have any questions about this change, our support team is here for you! Drop us a line at support@virtuous.org and let us know how we can help.
