SSO, On the Go!
SSO, or Single-sign on, may be unfamiliar to some. But if you’ve ever logged in to an app using your Facebook or Google account, you’ve used it. (Surprise!) And for users who had log into Virtuous with SSO via Google or Microsoft, our mobile app has been off-limits.
Until now.
We’re happy to report that we’ve added support for SSO—logging in with your Google or Microsoft account—to the Virtuous mobile app! We’ve also spruced up the app a bit to give it an updated look.
Apple users can download the updated version of the mobile app from the App Store.
For Android users, we’ve released an entirely new version of our mobile app. If you’ve downloaded a previous version, or if you’ve never downloaded it before, you can grab the newest version from the Google Play Store.
And the Rest…
As with every release, this latest update also includes a number of other fixes, tweaks, minor modifications, and assorted nudges. Among the various fixes released over the last month:
- SMS messages were sent, but the status wasn’t reflected in Virtuous. We’ve ensured all messages will now report in when they reach their final destination.
- Some Reversing Transactions didn’t like being left out of receipting and so they crashed the party. We’ve given them a stern talking-to and they won’t be interrupting receipting any more.
- Some Custom Collections fields were plenty happy just they way they were and refused to be edited, even by an admin. We’ve made sure they will be more open to new content from now on.
- Calendar Year Tax Deductible Amount is such an esoteric, unknowable concept…oh, wait. It’s just math. Yup, turn out we just needed to double-check our math, and now, it’s TOTALLY knowable.
- Some users adding custom HTML in receipt templates discovered that their custom handiwork was not always saved correctly—or so it appeared. Lo and behold, all was saved, but was a little to shy to be seen. Now, custom HTML will be saved AND visible.
- Searching for Segment codes during gift imports was sometimes flagging perfectly valid Segments as invalid. We don’t want anyone to invalidate the existence of a perfectly fine and healthy Segment, so we’ve made sure searches are looking in every nook and cranny for Segments now.
- Has this ever happened to you: two people from the same household fill out a form on your website and add some information that should be captured in a Custom Collection, but only one Custom Collection entry comes through after you complete your import? Well, if so, it’s a thing of the past! (And if not, then good for you!)
- Some of our Canadian users were having some difficulty generating annual statements (yes, it IS different in Canada!) and we just had to help our neighbors in the north make sure they could get there statements running smoothly again. Not bad, eh?
- API update: we’ve made a change to allow organizations to more easily update Reversing Transactions via the API. (If you’re not sure what any of this means, that’s OK! It’s kinda nerdy.)
And that's the list! Phew! As always, if you have any questions about these or other features, feel free to contact our team using the support widget in Virtuous, or drop us a line by email: support@virtuous.org.
