Your Tabs, Your Way
We are always listening for feedback (did you know you can share feedback with us right from Virtuous?), and over the years, we’ve heard from many of you about the need for more customization on Contact records.
Well…we didn’t just listen 🙂
We responded.
That’s right, in this release, we are thrilled to introduce the ability to customize the tab layout on Contact records! Now you can see the data that matters most to you, just a click away!
On any Contact record, just click on the “more” option from the tab bar. There, at the bottom of the menu, you’ll see the option to “Manage Tabs.”
This will open a new view where you can select up to six tabs that you’d like to have visible at all times. You can also re-order the entire tab list to make sure the tabs you need most are near at hand. (Unlike Marty McFly, it will be easy for you to get a Tab when you need one.)
Tab customization is unique to each user, so everyone on your team can see exactly what they need.
Now, not only can you make the Memberships tab easier to find, or the Events tab handy, but you can even move Custom Collections right to the front of the line.
So go ahead, start making your own tab lineup today!
We’re Engaged!
Contact Notes are fantastic, flexible, and…funky? (Sorry, needed to keep the alliteration going.) And while Contact Notes are designed to help keep track of interactions with your supporters, they are a little like Windex—they have all sorts of other uses. Which is great! But it can also make it tricky to see when you are actually interacting with your supporters.
So we thought we’d make things a little easier.
Now, Admins will see the option to set any Contact Note Type as an Engagement Touchpoint. Just navigate to the Data Customization tab in Settings, select Contact Note Types, and then click to edit any existing Note Type (or create a new one). There, you’ll see an additional checkbox to “Include as Engagement Touchpoint.”
This is just the first step in providing more visibility around engagement. More to come in future releases!
Well, Aren’t You Classy?
Just in time for peak giving season, we’ve added support for Classy Studio Transactions in our Classy integration! If you are already using the Classy integration to sync transactions, you’ll need to edit the settings in Virtuous Connect and be sure to select “Studio Donations” in the integration settings.
All Classy Studio donations will be mapped using the same business rules applied to regular fundraising donations. So, you can map Campaigns, allow the integration to create new Segments, and track Projects just like you would for other donations.
And the Rest…
As with every release, this latest update also includes a number of other fixes, tweaks, minor modifications, and assorted nudges. Among the various fixes released over the last month or so:
- Some users taking advantage of the ability to create custom fields in RaiseDonors and have then sync to Virtuous noticed that data was not always syncing for number custom fields (that is AWFULLY specific). We’ve made sure that now, when transactions sync to Virtuous, any number values will come along for the ride.
- And speaking of integrations, some customers using our Sage Intacct integration reported seeing duplicates for credit card transactions. While that is one way to increase revenue, it sure doesn’t seem like the best way to increase revenue, so we’ve eliminated these twinned transactions.
- We heard from several users about our recent update to format phone numbers add add country codes. Several valid phone numbers were being flagged as “Update Needed” in the Gift & Contact Import Tool because of the added country code. We certainly don’t want to slow down gift processing at year end! So, we deployed an update that will automatically update phone numbers when the only difference is a US country code, with no additional review needed.
- API nerd alert! Some eagle-eyed users noted that rate limit and remaining call counts in API responses were missing values. That seems altogether unsporting, so we’ve made sure rate limit remaining counts are now in the response where they belong. If you aren not sure what any of this means, then count your lucky stars!
- We heard from some users that export fields in queries were not saved after the debut of custom query columns. We’ve restored saved export fields and made sure they will stay put.
- Some records were showing “Last Modified By” users who…did not, in fact, modify those records. We’ve found the offending code and sent it packing.
- Reversed transactions were sneaking into the Calendar Year to Date Tax Deductible merge fields in receipting. While we don’t ever want anyone to feel left out, we’ve let Reversing Transactions know that this is really not their place.
And that's the list! Phew! As always, if you have any questions about these or other features, feel free to contact our support team.
