Using the Grant module in Virtuous will allow your team to track the different stages, requirements, and details of a Grant cycle. Once you receive the funds from the Granting Organization, there is an additional step to the Gift Entry Process to link the Gift record to the Grant. This article will walk through the full process to ensure proper tracking is maintained.
Before you can attach a Gift record to a Grant, the Grant needs to first exist.

When a Grant award payment is received, this Gift be entered to Virtuous CRM as a Gift record through the Gift and Contact Import Tool. The Donor in these cases would be the Granting Organization.
After the Gift has been entered and saved, you will need to navigate to the Contact record for the Granting Organization. Then, navigate to the Gifts tab. To the right of the specific Gift record, select the Edit icon.
Then, look for the Grant field and click to select the grant you want to link.
To avoid linking incorrect Gifts, the Gift Date must be after the Award Date set on your Grant. If you choose a Gift with an earlier date, you will see an error message.
Once you have selected the right Grant, just select save. Now the Gift will be visible on the Gifts tab of your Grant.
