When entering Gifts in Virtuous, there are many safety nets in the Gift and Contact Import Tool to ensure you are importing clean and usable data. However, mistakes happen and that's okay! This article will provide guidance on managing a Gift record that was entered with an incorrect Gift Type.
The short answer is you can NOT change the Gift Type on a Gift record after it has been initially created and saved. Depending on what Gift Type was initially chosen, there are a number of conditional fields available that are dependent on the Gift Type. To manage a Gift record that needs to have the Gift Type modified, the recommended solution is creating a Reversing Transaction.
