Creating an Event Form in Virtuous allows invitees to provide key information to help your team prepare for your event. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Before building an Event form, ensure a Standard Event is created and saved.
Note: Event Forms only work with Standard Events in Virtuous. Ticketed Events is a separate feature.
Once a Standard Event is created and saved, go to the Forms page, which can be found under the Marketing options.
On the Forms page, select “Create Form” on the upper right. Then click “Event”.
Step 1: Customize Settings
Define the Form name, select the Standard Event to connect with the Form, and set the Origin Segment code from the Campaign Communication.
Click “Next” at the bottom of the screen to begin building.
Step 2: Build the Form
Drag and drop elements from the left side into the middle area to customize the form layout.
Once the form is customized, click “Next” to proceed to submission settings.
Step 3: Define Submission Details
Note: The Confirmation Email has to be created in the Marketing email tool before connecting it to the Form.
There is also the ability for you to choose a user to Notify when someone submits the form.
Step 4: Embed
Before embedding, you might want to Preview the form before it is published. You can do so by clicking “Preview” under the Actions drop down.
If you would like to change something, go back to the Build step.
Once you are ready to embed, click “Actions” on the upper right, select “Save and Publish.”
An embed code will be generated for you to be able to copy and or email to your web developer.
Note: You can always go back to the Forms page to update and publish as needed. Those changes will be reflected on the webpage where the embed link lives.
Once event form submissions start coming in, the data will appear on the Import Tool page. This data will not be official on the Event page until the Event form bundle is imported. The Import Tool is the only place to see the full form submissions unless you run a Form Submission Query.
On the Event Attendees page, the data will show up in the row next to the individual's name.
