When logging in to Virtuous you may receive an email notification that displays a specific location. The location displayed may not be the exact physical location you are in. There are a few things to keep in mind that may contribute to the details of the email received.
- Logging in from a mobile phone using Wi-Fi or cell data will result in each having a different IP Address registered.
- If you're utilizing a VPN, either through your organization's office or a Third-Party VPN, this will change the perceived IP Address.
- Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have thousands of IP Addresses being dynamically assigned at any given time. This can result in the "Location" being off by many miles.
With these different factors in mind, the resulting email notification can be slightly concerning. If you received this email notification immediately after logging in to Virtuous, this variable location displayed is likely due to one or more of the factors listed above.
If you have NOT recently logged in to Virtuous, this may be cause for concern. If you have any security concerns, it's recommended to reset your password on the main Virtuous login screen. For users logging in via Microsoft or Google, you will need to reset your password on the respective platform.
To add an additional layer of security you may consider requiring Two-Factor authentication. To learn more about about Two-Factor Authentication, check out this Support Article.
