We know some Campaign structures can be complex or change a lot year to year for some organizations, which means that manually building out Campaigns in Virtuous would be time-consuming. For these reasons, some users may prefer to build their Campaign Segments (and additional parts of the Campaign Structure) outside of Virtuous. And the good news is: Campaign Communications and Segments can then be directly imported to Virtuous.
How to Get There
First, be sure to create your Campaigns; after all, your Communications and Segments have to go somewhere!
You can import Segments on the Campaigns screen. Hover over the left side bar, then select Marketing. Under Marketing, select Campaigns.


When ready, simply click in the Import File field to select your file and begin uploading.
An on-screen notification will pop up once the import is complete. Check to ensure all records are imported successfully; if there are any errors, download the provided csv, correct any errors directly in the downloaded file, and then re-upload the entire corrected file using the same process as before. Any records already imported will not be duplicated. Repeat this process until all records have been successfully imported.
Another Way to Get There
Again, be sure to create your Campaigns first.
Then, hover over the left side bar, then select Tools. Under Tools, select Bulk Data Tools.

Click "Template" to download the import template. Once you've completed your Campaign Segment structure, transfer that work to the import template.
When ready, simply drag and drop the completed import file into the box that says "Drop your file here or click here to search for a file on your computer" to begin uploading.

Now that your Segments are set up, you're ready to start running Segmentation and tracking your Gifts with your new Segment Codes!
