Once attendees start purchasing tickets for your upcoming event, the Attendee Registration and Ticket Sale, or associated Gift, will come into Virtuous through the Gift and Contact Import Tool. That information will need to be Imported via the Gift and Contact Import Tool. For organizations using Ticketed Events, there are a couple of nuances to keep in mind about processing the Ticket Sale in Virtuous, including accepting foreign currencies and using multiple Payment Processors.
Primary Payment Processor
If your organization has more than one Payment Processor, Ticketed Events will use the Processor which is specified as Primary. To confirm or update which Payment Processor is marked as Primary, under the Online Giving Tab, select Settings and then Payment Providers.
Here, you’ll see your Payment Gateways and the one marked as Primary. If you need to update the Primary Payment Processor, select the 3 dots next to the one you wish to make Primary.
Accepted Currency
If your organization’s Gateway is set to a specific currency, the currency will be respected with Ticketed Event purchases. The currency set on the Gateway is what the Gift will settle in. The available currencies to choose from include:
- USD
- CAD
- GBP
- AUD
- NZD
Note that the Ticketed Event is directly attached to the Primary Payment Gateway, so a registrant is not able to choose a different currency upon the transaction.
